Privacy Policy

Your privacy, protected.

Effective date: June 30, 2026  ·  Last updated: August 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how eTernal ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our platform at https://my-eternal.com (the "Service"). By using eTernal, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use eTernal:

  • Account information: Your name and email address when you register.
  • Legacy content: Life stories, written memories, biographical information, dates, and other personal narratives you create or contribute to a legacy project.
  • Photos, video, and voice: Media files and original voice recordings you upload or capture for a legacy project.
  • Life Stewardship Vault information: Documents, document locations, wishes, contacts, medical or household guidance, and other materials you choose to store in the private Vault.
  • AI-assisted writing inputs: When you explicitly request writing help, the source memory or transcript needed to generate your requested draft. Vault documents are not sent to AI merely because they are uploaded.
  • Instagram media: If you choose to connect your Instagram account, we access and import photos, captions, and associated metadata from your Instagram profile. This is done solely at your direction and only with your explicit authorization.
  • Collaborator information: Names and email addresses of family members or collaborators you invite to a project.
  • Usage data: Basic analytics such as pages visited and features used, to improve the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create, store, and display your personal legacy project.
  • Enable you to share your legacy with family members and invited collaborators.
  • Send account-related notifications, such as invitations or weekly digest emails (which you may unsubscribe from at any time).
  • Provide AI-assisted drafts only when you choose that feature; AI suggestions do not replace your original source.
  • Maintain owner-visible Vault access history for authorized Vault views and changes.
  • Improve and maintain the eTernal platform.
  • Respond to your support requests and inquiries.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. Instagram Data — Limited Use Disclosure

eTernal offers an optional Instagram import so you can add your own Instagram photos to your legacy project. When you choose to use it, you connect your Instagram account and select which of your photos to import. Our use of your Instagram data is strictly limited as follows:

  • Instagram data is accessed only when you explicitly initiate an import using your connected Instagram account.
  • We only access your own media (photos, captions, and metadata) — we never access other users' data.
  • Instagram media is imported and stored within your personal legacy project only. It is not shared with any third party, used for advertising, or processed for any purpose other than displaying your legacy.
  • You may stop using the Instagram import at any time. Photos you have already imported remain part of your project until you remove them from your legacy or request their deletion through us (see Your Rights — Data Deletion).
  • We use your Instagram data only as described here and in keeping with the Meta Platform Terms.

4. How We Store and Protect Your Data

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard infrastructure provided by Base44 (our application platform). We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure.

Legacy projects are private by default. Published projects are accessible only via a private share link that you control. We do not make your content publicly indexed or searchable.

Private data — drafts, family details, Vault contents, and other project information — is protected by role-based access controls. Vault content is available only to the Legacy Owner and people specifically assigned the Vault Designee role through server-verified access. Authorized Vault views and changes are recorded in an owner-visible access history. Limited eTernal personnel may access data only when necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, or support the Service.

Public-facing content, such as a published legacy page, testimonials, story comments, and invitation links, is served only through dedicated functions that expose the information intended for that purpose — never direct, open access to our database. A family share link should still be treated as private information because anyone who receives it may be able to open the shared legacy.

eTernal does not claim that Vault files are end-to-end encrypted or protected by a customer-held encryption key. Do not upload passwords, complete financial account numbers, or authentication credentials.

While no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, we take your privacy seriously and continuously work to protect your data.

5. Your Rights — Data Deletion

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To request deletion of your account and all associated data — including any imported Instagram media — please contact us at:

privacy@eternal.love

We will process your deletion request within 30 days. Account deletion removes your sign-in account and the app records associated with the legacy projects you own. Base44 currently retains deleted database records in a recoverable “Recently Deleted” state for up to 30 days before permanent removal. Uploaded files are unlinked from your account when their associated records are deleted, but Base44 does not publish a separate file-copy or backup deletion timetable for app-user uploads. Provider backup copies may therefore remain temporarily under Base44’s retention and security controls. Contact privacy@eternal.love if you need confirmation concerning a specific uploaded file.

Canceling a paid hosting subscription does not delete your content. Your public legacy is taken offline and your account content is retained so it can be restored if you resubscribe, unless you separately request deletion.

6. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate eTernal:

  • Base44 — Application hosting, database, authentication, file storage, and AI-assisted functionality that you explicitly request.
  • Stripe — Payment processing for subscriptions. Stripe handles all payment data; we never store your credit card information. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Meta / Instagram — When you choose to connect your Instagram account, your authorization is handled via Meta's OAuth system. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
  • Resend / Email providers — Used to send transactional and notification emails.

These third parties are only given access to the data necessary to perform their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.

7. Children's Privacy

eTernal is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@eternal.love and we will delete such information promptly.

8. Cookies and Tracking

eTernal uses minimal cookies and local storage for session authentication and platform functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email.

We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of eTernal after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
